Luann de Lesseps, aka Countess Luann of the Real Housewives of New York City, is divorcing her second husband (the one who's not a count) after just seven months, as she announced via Twitter Thursday. Page Six takes an inside look at the final days of the reality star's union with Tom D’Agostino Jr., which had been beset with drama from the start. Sources say they recently went on a number of trips in an attempt to salvage their relationship, but kept separating and then reuniting before finally realizing they couldn't save it. The problem? According to some of the insiders, D’Agostino couldn't give up his "bachelor lifestyle." Another source says the businessman didn't enjoy the "reality TV lifestyle" his wife leads.
It came out shortly after the couple first got together in 2015 that D’Agostino had previously dated two of de Lesseps' Real Housewives co-stars, and then it was revealed (by another co-star, Bethenny Frankel) that D’Agostino kissed his ex the night before his and de Lesseps' engagement party, yet the wedding went on. The couple reportedly got into a fight at a New York restaurant last month that actually turned physical, with de Lesseps allegedly slapping D’Agostino (she later denied it and called it a "love tap"), and more bad press followed. A source tells E! de Lesseps "just broke down and got tired of trying and hearing these stories about his infidelity." But another source suggests to Radar that de Lesseps timed the divorce filing for now because Bravo executives are deciding which cast members will return to RHONY next season and this guarantees her a spot.
