Dr. Dre is putting a lot of money straight into Compton: The rap mogul is giving back to his hometown with a $10 million donation toward a performing arts complex at the new Compton High School, reports the Los Angeles Times. "My goal is to provide kids with the kind of tools and learning they deserve," says Dre, who will lead a fundraising effort for the rest of the money needed. The new facility, which will include a 1,200-seat theater, will be available to the public as well as students. Dre, who promised in 2015 that he would donate royalties from his Compton album to fund a new performing arts facility, has also mentored young talent from the city, Rolling Stone reports.
