Two inmates who killed a pair of corrections officers to escape a prison transport bus in Georgia carjacked a vehicle Tuesday and drove 25 miles north to the town of Madison where they broke into a home, authorities say. They changed clothes and were reportedly spotted soon after at a nearby Family Dollar store, reports the AP. But with no more recent sighting, the pair could be just about anywhere by now, Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills tells WSB-TV. Hoping for a quick resolution, multiple law enforcement agencies have provided a $70,000 reward for information leading to the capture of 43-year-old Donnie Russell Rowe and 24-year-old Ricky Dubose, whom Sills says are armed and "dangerous beyond description."

Authorities say Rowe and Dubose somehow escaped a locked compartment in the bus around 6:45am Tuesday as 33 inmates were being moved between prisons. "I can't tell you how the gate got open," says Sills, who notes the bus was equipped with a camera. "It should have been locked. It may have been locked. I have no idea." The men overpowered Sgt. Christopher Monica and Sgt. Curtis Billue, stole their weapons, and "brutally murdered" both, Sills says, per the Atlanta Journal Constitution. "I have their blood on my shoes." Rowe began serving life without parole in 2002, while Dubose, who has highly noticeable facial tattoos, began a 20-year sentence in 2015. They were last seen driving a green Honda Civic, license plate RBJ 6601. Sills is urging anyone with information to call 911. "My biggest worry is they're going to kill somebody else," he says.
