Angel Guillermo Heredia, the main witness for the federal case against elite track coach Trevor Graham, is prepared to give the names of about two dozen athletes to whom he supplied performance-enhancing drugs. Among the 12 Olympians on the list is Maurice Greene, a two-time gold medalist who has never failed a drug test, reports the New York Times.
The defense questions Heredia's credibility, arguing that his testimony is merely an attempt to "divert attention from his illicit drug dealing." Graham, who is charged with making false statements to federal authorities, maintains his innocence. Heredia has documentation to back up his statements, including blood tests and a bank transaction from Greene, and telephone recordings and emails from other athletes. (More sports doping stories.)
