Bob Irwin will retire from the Australian Zoo made famous by his 'Crocodile Hunter' son Steve, taking with him a retirement package worth just shy of $1 million amid rumors of a feud with his son's widow. Irwin will also collect a $93,000 yearly pension from the zoo he founded 36 years ago, and later sold to his son, reports the AP.
The elder Irwin has disagreed with Terri Irwin over the vision of the reptile theme park and her ambitious goals for her daughter Bindi, telling an Australian TV station earlier this week they were "fairly minor things on their own but I just felt that it was better for everybody concerned if I left Australia Zoo." Irwin said he wanted "to continue Steve's work the way I believe it should be done." (More Steve Irwin stories.)
