In an exclusive interview with People, 30-year-old Jessica McClure Morales says she lost most of her $1.2 million trust fund when the market crashed in 2008. The trust fund was created when people around the world donated money after witnessing 18-month-old Jessica's harrowing ordeal: spending 60 hours trapped at the bottom of a well.
Despite losing most of the $1.2 million trust fund in the stock market crash—the rest paid for her Texas home, which she shares with her husband and two children—McClure Morales says she still appreciates everyone who gave money. And while she doesn't actually remember her time in the well, it taught her a lesson she's passing on to her kids: "If you look hard enough, there are so many good people in this world.” And, yes, her friends still call her "Baby Jessica."
