Last month, Patrick Stewart joked on Twitter that he had the worst sleep of his life in Washington DC, possibly due to his proximity to President Trump. Now the actor is apparently doing something about it, the Hill reports "As the result of this election: I am now applying for citizenship," he said Thursday on The View. "I want to be an American, too.” Stewart says his American friends told him their plan for dealing with Trump: "Fight, fight, oppose, oppose." But the erstwhile Capt. Picard says he couldn't do that as a non-citizen, according to the Los Angeles Times. Stewart, who has recently claimed he's embarrassed by his British citizenship due to Brexit, says getting his US citizenship might be the only decent thing to come of Trump's election.
