An Uber Nightmare: 5 Craziest Crimes of the Week

This week kicks off with two crimes allegedly involving 20-something women and vehicles:

• Cops: Uber Ride Turned Into Nightmare for Colo. Driver: A Colorado Uber driver got a raw deal over the weekend, but so did a retaining wall, a tree, and his car after one of his passengers was accused of stealing it following a fight. Sheriff's deputies say it started at close to 3am Saturday in Fort Collins, when the unnamed Uber driver tried to drop off a carload of passengers, including an apparently inebriated Meagan Osgood.
• Bad Move: Cartwheels During Sobriety Test: Bryelle Marshall didn't walk in a straight line during a field sobriety test in Albuquerque, NM, on Friday—but she did do cartwheels. After receiving a report about a reckless driver, officers say they found the 23-year-old asleep in the driver's seat of her car, parked partially on a road. What happened next was captured by a police body camera.

• Cops: Virgin Saint Hid a Secret—Until She Leaked It: Altars to the Virgin of Guadalupe are ubiquitous at businesses across Mexico. Now federal police say one has been used for a nefarious purpose in the central state of Puebla. The telltale sign: a trail of fuel leaking into the street in San Martin Texmelucan.
• Restaurant Fined for Pretending Tilapia Was Much Fancier Fish: For a year and a half, customers at a high-end Bay Area restaurant were duped into thinking they were eating fancy fish when they were actually eating tilapia. A suspicious customer finally complained to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's office in early 2016 about the supposed petrale sole dish. The DA's office found that Morgan Hill's Odeum restaurant did, in fact, make the substitution for roughly 18 months, and it'll pay dearly for it.
• Cops Raid Nuclear Bunker, Find a Giant Pot Farm: The 20-room nuclear bunker was originally intended to protect government officials in case of bombs. Instead, six men were allegedly using it to fill bongs. During a Wednesday raid on the 1980s bunker known as RGHQ Chilmark in Wiltshire, England, police uncovered a massive marijuana operation worth a pretty penny.
