Oh, the irony. After the Pittsburgh Steelers won Sunday night and earned the right to play the Patriots in the AFC championship, a member of the team can be heard pleading in the locker room, “Be cool on social media, man! This is about us, nobody else, man!” And how do we know this? Because Steeler Antonio Brown was live-streaming on Facebook at the time, and the remark was picked up in the background, reports Deadspin. The reason this is generating headlines is because Brown's video also picked up coach Mike Tomlin calling the Patriots "a--holes" and perhaps giving Tom Brady's team some added incentive. (You can see the full video here, but be warned about strong language. Tomlin starts talking about the 2-minute mark.)
"Let’s start our preparation,”" says the coach, who sounds irked that the Steelers game had been moved back to Sunday night, while the Patriots played on Saturday. "We spotted them a–holes a day-and-a-half. ... We’re gonna touch down at 4 o’clock in the [expletive] morning. So be it. ... But you ain’t got to tell them that we’re coming." Later, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger echoed the warning about keeping a low profile. "Keep your mouth shut" and focus on the game, he tells his teammates, per CBS Boston. Brown deleted the video from Facebook, but not before the story got widely picked up. (Tomlin recently zinged Terry Bradshaw.)
