Trump on Election Hack: 'I Think It Was Russia'

As expected, questions about Russia dominated Donald Trump's news conference Wednesday, but he also made news with more details on how he plans to divorce himself from his business. Details:

• "It's all fake news. It's phony stuff. It didn't happen." Trump again dismissed allegations that Moscow has blackmail-level video of him. He blamed "sick people" for inventing the story and called it a "disgrace" that it was leaked.
• He drew some laughter with this line, referring to a particularly graphic part of the allegations: "Does anyone really believe that story? I'm also very much of a germophobe, by the way."

• "I think it was Russia." For the first time, Trump said he believes Russia hacked the US election, reports CNN. But he also said that "we have much hacking going on" and that Russia isn't the only guilty party.
• If Vladimir Putin likes him, Trump says "that's an asset" because the US could team up with Moscow against ISIS. He added that it's likely he won't get along with Putin and if so, he says he'll be harder on him than Hillary Clinton would have been. Later, he asserted that Russia "will have far greater respect for our country when I'm leading it."
• Among the Trump business changes: No new foreign deals while he's president, said Trump's attorney. She added that he will "voluntarily donate all profits from foreign government payments made to his hotels to the United States Treasury." Trump also will name an ethics adviser for new domestic deals, and he'll turn over his business operations to a trust managed by his sons. But Politico notes that he won't place his assets in a blind trust as some have recommended, and the New York Times says the details leave plenty of questions unanswered about potential conflicts of interest.
• "ObamaCare is a complete and total disaster," Trump said, promising to "repeal and replace" quickly and, mostly, simultaneously.
• He named David Shulkin, a medical doctor, to be his secretary of Veterans Affairs. Details at NPR.
