The three top-grossing actors of 2016 have one thing in common: They all starred in the top-grossing movie of the year, Captain America: Civil War. In fact, all but one of the 10 top-grossing actors of 2016 starred in a comic flick this year, reports Forbes. The exception is Felicity Jones, who instead helped out a little film called Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Here are the top-grossing actors based on global ticket sales for their 2016 films, excluding animated films where actors provided voice work:
- Scarlett Johansson: $1.2 billion
- Robert Downey Jr.: $1.15 billion
- Chris Evans $1.15 billion
- Margot Robbie: $1.1 billion
- Amy Adams: $1.04 billion
- Ben Affleck: $1.02 billion
- Henry Cavill: $870 million
- Ryan Reynolds: $820 million
- Felicity Jones: $805 million
- Will Smith: $775 million
