Some say he's a hero, others just a man with a big piece of construction equipment. The Guardian reports police in Canada received a 911 call Thursday from a construction worker who had trapped an alleged drunk driver between his excavator's cab and its claw. He says the driver had gotten out of his car to argue and seemed impaired, so he used the excavator to keep him from leaving the scene. "It's certainly a first that I've seen," a police spokesperson tells CBC. "The officers responding probably haven't seen something like that before either. It was a different way, but it was effective." Police say the 50-year-old driver was later found to be three times over the legal limit for drinking and driving. (More drunk driving stories.)
