Merrick Garland is ready to move on, 10 months after President Obama nominated him to the Supreme Court. After withdrawing from cases after his nomination in March, Garland will return to the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit beginning Jan. 18, reports BuzzFeed. The move suggests Garland has accepted that his nomination, though still pending, will go unconfirmed, reports Politico; as the Senate recessed for the year on Friday without holding a hearing or vote, the nomination will go back to the White House. President-elect Donald Trump will reportedly begin interviewing candidates for his own Supreme Court nomination soon. (More US Supreme Court stories.)
