Sofia Vergara's ex-fiance Nick Loeb has dropped a lawsuit in California seeking custody of the two female embryos the couple created together, now frozen in a fertility clinic, but the Modern Family star's legal troubles are far from over: She's now being sued by her own embryos in Louisiana, where a fertilized egg is considered a "juridicial person," per the Telegraph. The right-to-live lawsuit states the fertilized eggs, named in court documents as "Emma" and "Isabella," have been deprived of life and a trust fund created for them in Louisiana, and it asks that Loeb be allowed to implant them in a surrogate and raise them as his children, with Vergara given no parental rights, sources tell Page Six.

Back in 2013, the couple created five embryos and were left with two after failed IVF treatments. Though a signed document stated neither party could use the embryos without the other's consent, it did not specify what would happen to the embryos if the couple split, which they did in 2014, the lawsuit states. Loeb later filed for custody of the embryos, though he dropped that suit Tuesday as he would have been forced to identify two women he impregnated who later had abortions. Vergara, now married to Joe Manganiello, has been fighting to have the embryos "frozen indefinitely," which Loeb has said "is tantamount to killing them." (Read more of Loeb's thoughts here.)
