Woman Arrested Once More Over Twin Sister's Death

In June, Hawaii prosecutors said the crash that killed Anastasia Duval was no accident—but twin sister Alexandria, who was behind the wheel, saw her second-degree murder charge thrown out due to lack of evidence. Now Duval has been re-arrested in connection with the May 29 accident, in which their SUV went through a rock wall and plunged 200 feet in Maui; Duval was critically injured, and her twin was pronounced dead at the scene. Maui News reports that Duval was indicted for second-degree murder by a grand jury on Oct. 28. After a warrant was issued for her arrest in early November, an address in Albany, NY, was flagged as a potential location for the 37-year-old, the Albany Times Union reports.

Duval was spotted outside the home Friday and tried to elude law enforcement but was apprehended and taken to Albany County Jail. She'll next be extradited to Hawaii; bail has been set at $3 million. It's the latest twist in a case "resembling the makings of a Lifetime flick," as the Cut puts it. Witnesses saw the twins arguing in the SUV with "the passenger pulling the hair of the driver, who appeared to be in a rage," per KITV. One witness says Alexandria then accelerated into the rock wall from a dead stop, with Hawaii News Now reporting the car was traveling 50mph. It was determined that the accelerator had been pushed to the floor, and no attempts were made to brake. (More twins stories.)
