Zimmerman Had Quite the Night Wednesday

George Zimmerman claims a black man hit him at a bar near Sanford, Fla., on Wednesday, but that's not the same story police are telling. The Seminole County Sheriff's Office says Zimmerman became belligerent and used a racial slur at the Corona Cigar Company after officers were called to investigate a battery claim, reports WKMG. After first refusing to talk to a deputy, Zimmerman called 911 and requested a supervisor, who arrived at the scene. Zimmerman then explained a customer had hit him twice on the shoulder. A surveillance video, however, showed Floyd L. Narcisse approaching Zimmerman with his hand out as if "attempting to shake his hand," police say. Narcisse tapped Zimmerman when he was ignored, authorities add.

Narcisse says he sees Zimmerman at the bar often and the pair are usually "very cordial." But Wednesday "he was belligerent," he tells the Orlando Sentinel. "I was like, 'Hey, George. How are you?' ... and I tapped him on the shoulder … The next thing I know, cops say he wants to press charges." Authorities add Zimmerman "became belligerent" when asked to complete a statement form, then used it to describe the deputy as "an incompetent officer under qualified [sic] to flip burgers." He also said he planned to sue the sheriff's office, police say. While all this was going on, officers say Zimmerman also shouted at a waitress, causing a manager to ask him to leave. "I didn't know you were a [racial slur] lover," Zimmerman allegedly responded. No arrests were made. (Zimmerman actually was punched at a restaurant recently.)
