SNL Abruptly Drops the 'Gross' Act

Saturday Night Live trotted out Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon a final time before the election with what of late passes for a pretty standard Cold Open, complete with Baldwin's Donald Trump kissing Vladimir Putin, an FBI agent, and a Klansman, while Cecily Strong as Erin Burnett continued to hammer McKinnon's Hillary Clinton about—wait for it—her email.

Things were rolling along normally when Baldwin abruptly dropped the act, and addressed the camera and the vitriol, saying, "I just feel gross all the time. I mean, don’t you guys feel gross all the time about this?" He and McKinnon then grab hands and run through the streets of New York distributing hugs (including one to a man in a "Trump that B----" shirt), before ending the sketch thusly: "Now it’s time to get out there and vote," says Baldwin. "None of this will have mattered if you don’t vote." McKinnon chimes in: "And we can’t tell you who to vote for, but on Tuesday, we all get a chance to choose what kind of country we wanna live in."
