Despite the candidate's statements to the contrary, Trump TV may still be a go. Fox News received a copy of a casting call Wednesday for an "up-and-coming conservative media network currently in development." The casting call doesn't specify who is starting the new network, which is looking for "outspoken and energetic" reporters, hosts, and panelists who "look upscale and intelligent" and who are "knowledgeable about conservative viewpoints, current events, and the presidential election."
The casting call implies the new network will, at least at first, be streamed online. The Wrap points out that Trump is already streaming a daily news show on Facebook. And Raw Story reports that, if this is indeed some form of Trump TV, it makes sense, as the quality of Trump surrogates on television has been a problem during the election. The casting call seems to be "looking to cast people of a higher caliber than the ones who currently represent the Trump campaign on national TV." The Trump campaign isn't commenting on the casting call, but Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law, has reportedly been interested in starting a news media company based on Trump's popularity. Auditions for the new conservative news network are being held in New York on Nov. 7—the day before Election Day. (More television news stories.)
