Kumbuka the gorilla's story has a much happier ending than Harambe's. The silverback gorilla was recaptured within an hour of escaping his enclosure at the London Zoo Thursday night, and a keeper tells the BBC that he is "happy to report that he's up and grumbling, and interacting with the rest of his family in his gorilla kingdom." The western lowland silverback didn't get a chance to swing from Big Ben: Authorities say he was taken down by a tranquilizer dart while still in a secure area reserved for zookeepers.
Armed police were sent to the scene—which some visitors locked into zoo buildings after the alarm was raised likened to Jurassic Park—but no shots were fired, and the zoo says the public was never in danger, the AP reports. Kumbuka's keeper says the gorilla is a very popular animal and despite the escape attempt, "he will be given his favorite treats a bit later on." (More gorilla stories.)
