Nancy O'Dell, one of the women Donald Trump discusses in crude terms in a 2005 "hot mic" moment, says she didn't want to be thrown "into the middle of the political arena"—but she will address the issue now that she's there. "There is no room for objectification of women, or anyone for that matter, not even in the 'locker room,'" the Entertainment Tonight host said at the start of Monday night's broadcast. "The conversation has got to change because everybody deserves respect, no matter the gender or setting," said O'Dell, who first issued a statement on the recording on Saturday.
"As a mom, I have to add that our kids, especially our young girls, need to know that their hard work, their achievements, their intelligence, their heart are most important, and those things will not go unnoticed," said O'Dell, who thanked viewers for their support and did not mention Trump by name, the AP reports. In the 2005 recording, Trump complains to Billy Bush, who was O'Dell's Access Hollywood co-host at the time, that he had been unable to seduce the married O'Dell—even though he had taken her on a trip to a furniture store. (The Today show has suspended co-host Bush over his remarks.)
