Rick Perry will join the next season of Dancing With the Stars, joining Ryan Lochte (probably not doing the Brazilian bossa nova), Amber Rose (doing dance moves that epitomize whatever she's famous for doing), and other celebrities for the ABC show's 23rd season, ABC News reports. Perry, who may be the most surprising pick this season, will be paired up with British pro Emma Slater. Deadline points out Perry isn't the first government official to take to the dance floor: Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay competed on DWTS in 2009 with partner Cheryl Burke (he had to drop out due to stress fractures in his feet).
Also set to put on their dancing shoes for ABC: Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez; Maureen McCormick (Marcia on The Brady Bunch); actress Marilu Henner; crooner Kenneth Edmonds (better known as "Babyface"); Little Women: LA star Terra Jole; Disney Channel star Jake T. Austin; former Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson; race car driver James Hinchcliffe; and country singer and One Tree Hill alum Jana Kramer. The show kicks off on Monday, Sept. 12, at 8pm EDT. (The last we heard from Perry, he was busy not mentioning Trump at the Republican National Convention.)
