After Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine released their tax returns in a bid to force Donald Trump into doing the same, the Trump campaign responded by, well, announcing the release of Mike Pence's tax returns, reports Politico. "When my forms are filed and when my tax returns are released it’s going to be a quick read," Pence told WABC Radio on Saturday. "The Pences have not become more wealthy as a result of sixteen years in public service. There's been a lot of sacrifices, we're a middle class family, and it’s been a tremendous honor to serve as I am as governor of Indiana, and my years in the Congress, and we'll look forward to making all that information available." Trump, meanwhile, is still refusing to release his tax returns.
Of Hillary and Bill Clinton's returns, which showed that the former first couple made more than $10 million last year, Pence opined thusly: "Well I just think, you know, it is breathtaking to see the way the Clintons throughout the last, you know, quarter century, have pursued a career in public life, but done quite well in private life, and I think that it, it makes a lot of her class warfare rhetoric in her speech (Friday) in Michigan ring hollow."
