Think the presidential campaign is wacky? A primary campaign in Tennessee might be even wackier than the presidential one. Republican State Rep. Curry Todd was arrested Monday, accused of stealing his opponent's campaign signs from a property in Collierville. A staffer for rival Mark Lovell caught the alleged theft on video last month, though Todd says he had the permission of the property owner, reports WREG.

Attempts to reach the property owner for confirmation were unsuccessful. The oddest part, however: Lovell was the one to post Todd's $100 bond on Tuesday, ahead of Thursday's election. "I thought, we don't need our state representative in jail," Lovell tells the Knoxville News Sentinel. "He can get out and the judge can decide what to do about it later."
