Tables Turn on Bat-Wielding Burglary Suspect
Noah Jess Dassat   (Charlotte County Jail)

A man accused of breaking into a home in Sarasota County, Fla., probably won't have the urge to head to the batting range anytime soon. North Port police say 33-year-old Noah Jess Dassat broke into the home of a married couple with three kids last week, and he was ready to go on the attack with the baseball bat he brought with him, per WPTV. Once he was inside the home, he went after a man inside, cops say—but the resident embraced him in a bear hug, and while he was holding onto Dassat, his wife somehow got the bat and started pounding on the intruder until he broke free and fled.

Dassat was picked up later by police at a Port Charlotte hospital under a fake name—and with head injuries, including what looks like a swollen, blackened eye in his mugshot. Dassat was charged with four felonies and a misdemeanor for armed burglary, battery, and criminal mischief; he and his bandaged head are now in Charlotte County Jail, held without bond.
