It may be Father's Day weekend, but this week's crop of crazy crimes features a daughter who allegedly went the distance for mom.

  • Cause of Brawl at Florida Bar: a Fart: "The argument was due to someone farting." That's what police were told after responding to a fight between two couples at Key West's Sloppy Joe's bar last Monday. It's not clear how exactly the fart set off the fight, but police say an argument "over a fart" was what sparked the incident, which went down like this.
  • Woman Tries to Do Mom a Favor, Gets Arrested: An instructor in Ontario was supposed to be giving a driving test to a 73-year-old woman last Thursday. But the woman who showed up that day looked quite a bit younger—though she was wearing glasses, a wig, and "clothing suited to an older person." The instructor informed his supervisor, who called police, and the would-be act of kindness didn't end well.

  • Women Ham It Up for Mugshots After Alleged Assault: Mary Jordan was charged with assault and child endangerment last week in Bellevue, Ohio—but you wouldn't know it from her mugshot. Police say Jordan and friends Ashley England and Sammie Whaley attacked a McDonald's worker in a restaurant parking lot on June 8 because they thought the service was too slow, and arrests followed. When it came time for the women to have their mugshots taken, Whaley put on a straight face. England and Jordan, however, did not.
  • 'Arrested' in India for 3 Deaths: 18 of These Lions: Three people are dead from vicious attacks in India's Gujarat state, and police have detained 18 suspects: lions. The "arrested" lions have been gathered from the forests of Gir National Park and are now being held in individual cages while their paw prints and excrement are examined and their behavior scrutinized to find the killer (or killers). And authorities think they're getting closer to closing the case.
  • Wife's Attempt to Keep Tabs on Her Man Ends Poorly: It wasn't a bomb, but a device planted by a suspicious wife kind of blew up: A retired military member called police in Leeds, UK, Tuesday when he noticed a "viable device" in his vehicle. Fearing he was a target of terrorists, authorities evacuated nearby homes as a bomb squad investigated. An hour later, the truth came out.
