No one noticed when a 3-year-old girl wandered into a community pool in Titusville, Fla., nor when she slipped beneath the surface. Yet, miraculously, the toddler is alive. A surveillance video—it isn't clear when it was taken—shows Keyuna Jordan walk into a pool at an apartment complex and struggle to stay afloat, reports WFTV. "People are around this young girl and she goes under and they don't even notice," a police rep tells WKMG. Police say the girl had been underwater for about 90 seconds when her 9-year-old cousin finally pulled her from the pool. "She was just limp and not moving," says Breanna Moseley, 18, who was at the pool with her family. "Honestly, I just wanted to cry ... I was like, a little girl just died in front of me."
Moseley then performed CPR—she'd learned it three years earlier in high school—and Keyuna began breathing. "I sat her up and held her and kept her warm. I just comforted her until the ambulance and her parents got there," she says. Keyuna was airlifted to a hospital but was later released. Her "mom came back and she hugged me and cried," Moseley says, per CBS News. She "told me how I was her guardian angel, and it made me realize, 'Wow, I actually did a pretty incredible thing.'" Keyuna's aunt, Jasmine Johnson, has been charged with child neglect after allegedly sending the girl to the pool with only her 14-year-old cousin and a friend, reports WESH. (More Florida stories.)
