Has the "mystery" of John Miller been solved? Perhaps, after a big night for Donald Trump on Jimmy Kimmel Live Wednesday, in which he agreed to debate Bernie Sanders and also copped to pulling out fake names in the past, though whether that includes the now-infamous Miller moniker is still somewhat unclear, per the Guardian. "Over the years I've used [aliases]," he told Kimmel, specifically noting he'd used "Barron," the inspiration for the name of his 10-year-old son. "I used an alias in terms of setting up a meeting with Mr. Donald Trump," he said, per the AP. "And many people in the real estate business do that. … You have to, frankly, otherwise they find out it's you and they charge you more money—and nobody wants to pay more money." He said he'd especially play the fake-name game when he was in Brooklyn with his dad and "I'd want to buy something."
Trump stopped just short, though, of admitting it was his voice (aka "John Miller") on a 1991 phone call with a People reporter. "It didn't sound like me, though, really. You think that sounded like me?" he asked Kimmel, who said Trump's alleged subterfuge, if true, was "brilliant," per CNN. When Kimmel answered in the affirmative, Trump responded, "I will say this: To me, that didn't sound like my voice." Wednesday night's show was also notable for the absence of two scheduled guests: singer the Weeknd and rapper Belly, who bowed out of their joint appearance at the last minute because of Trump's booking. "I feel like the way I was raised was to be able to see through all the titles in this world—from religion to race," Belly said in a statement to the AP, via the Los Angeles Times. "I just didn't want to feel like I was a part of a celebration for somebody who has beliefs that [the] majority of us don't agree with." (More Donald Trump 2016 stories.)
