Chris Webber's poetic return to the Warriors has come to an end following the latest injury to the ravaged left knee which has plagued him for the past five years. The power forward, a four-time all star and 93-94 rookie of the year with Golden State, will announce the end of his 15-year career later today, ESPN reports.
"It was great to get to know him again as a man," said Warriors coach Don Nelson, Weber's first and last coach. Joe Maloof, co-owner of the Kings franchise with which Webber had his greatest success, also praised the athlete, saying: "We have some disappointing memories, but we have some really happy memories. Chris had a great career." (More Chris Webber stories.)
