EgyptAir has reversed course on earlier claims it had found the wreckage of Flight 804, which disappeared from radar early Thursday over the Mediterranean Sea, the Los Angeles Times reports. "We stand corrected on finding the wreckage because what we identified is not a part of our plane," EgyptAir's vice chairman tells CNN. "So the search and rescue is still going on." It's unclear what the debris, found near the Greek island of Karpathos, is actually from. Greek officials had been skeptical the debris belonged to Flight 804 from the beginning.
Despite multiple officials leaning toward terrorism as the cause of the missing plane, sources with US intelligence say they haven't found any evidence of an explosion in satellite images, the Guardian reports. Still, CNN's aviation expert and Egypt's civil aviation minister believe terrorism is the most likely explanation. EgyptAir Flight 804 was traveling from Paris to Cairo with 66 people aboard.
