A missing-person investigation in Washington state came to a horrific end on Monday when police identified body parts found in a Seattle recycling bin as those of Ingrid Lyne, a mother-of-three who vanished after a first date on Friday night. John Robert Charlton, the man believed to have been her date for a Seattle Mariners game, has been arrested on suspicion of homicide, the Seattle Times reports. Police say the body parts, including the head and at least one foot, were wrapped in plastic bags and dumped in the bin sometime between Friday night and Saturday afternoon, when they were discovered by the homeowner.
Lyne, a nurse at Swedish Medical Center, was reported missing Saturday morning when her ex-husband went to her home in Renton to drop off their three daughters and discovered she wasn't there. Police discovered that her wallet and phone were in the house, but her SUV was in downtown Seattle. Investigators say Charlton has a criminal past and they are trying to determine whether it is a violent one. A woman who knows the 37-year-old tells KIRO 7 that he seemed like a nice and charming guy. She says she noticed an odd Facebook post from him on Saturday morning, after Lyne had disappeared: "Started school at All OF Them." (More missing person stories.)
