North Carolina barely broke a sweat today in the women's NCAA first round, the AP reports. The Tar Heels dominated from the opening minutes, racking up an initial 21-2 run before finishing 16th-seeded Bucknell off, 85-50. The victory marks the 14th straight for top-seeded UNC, which was led by LaToya Pringle's 19 points. Lauren Schober led the Bison with 13.  Elsewhere in women's tourney action:

  • Chattanooga's winning streak did not survive, as Kansas State, aided by Kelsey Nelson's 20, snapped the Lady Mocs' nation-leading 24-game run. The Wildcats nailed 21-21 from the line, winning 69-59
  • Courtney Paris posted her 91st straight double-double as the Oklahoma Sooners edged out Illinois State, 69-61. The game was competitive at the half, before OU opened up the second half on a 13-0 run.
