A man in Malibu, Calif., was hospitalized Saturday after being involved in not one, but two car accidents along a road winding through the area's canyons, KABC reports. Per a Facebook post by the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station, the driver—identified by the California Highway Patrol as Silviano Gonzalez Ramirez, per ABC News—"lost control" of his SUV, hit a guardrail, and nearly plummeted over the roadside ledge. His troubles didn't end there: His car dangling over the precipice, the man exited his car "disoriented," stumbled into the road, and was hit by a passing tour bus.
"Fortunately for the man, he was conscious and breathing on our arrival and … was transported to a local hospital for treatment," the Facebook post reads. "This is another reminder of the need to drive safely through the canyons of our beautiful area and to use extreme caution at the scene of a traffic collision." The CHP tells ABC the man is being treated for major injuries and that the crash is being investigated. (A South Carolina woman died in a bizarre drive-thru accident.)
