It looked close early, but the Runnin' Rebels couldn't cope with Kansas' balanced attack tonight, succumbing 75-56, as Kansas earned a spot in the sweet 16 for the second straight year, the AP reports. UNLV, led by Wink Adam's 25 points, mustered little else offensively, and with foul trouble, had only eight eligible players by the end of the game.
Adams, who went 15-17 from the line, watched his teammates miss from everywhere else, shooting 27 percent from the field. Kansas led by only five at the half, but with Mario Chalmer's 17 points, and three other double digit totals, the Jayhawks quickly opened things up, shooting 58 percent from the field to earn a shot against either Villanova or Siena.
