Cara Delevingne Reveals Struggle With 'Self Hatred'

Cara Delevingne took a break from modeling, and while many speculated she was quitting the business entirely so she could focus on her acting career, the British model revealed on Twitter that it was actually due to a struggle with depression, E! reports. "Can we just set the record straight..." Delevingne tweeted Thursday night. "I never said I was quitting modeling. I do not blame the fashion industry for anything. I suffer from depression and was a model during a particularly rough patch of self hatred."

"I am so lucky for the work I get to do but I used to work to try and escape and just ended up completely exhausting myself," she continued. "I am focusing on filming and trying to learn how to not pick apart my every flaw. I am really good at that." As E! notes, Delevingne recently did a modeling campaign for Saint Laurent, and some called it her "return" to the industry; she tweeted "I never quit" in response to those headlines Wednesday before clarifying further the following day.
