Woman Ships Box of DVDs With Her Cat Inside

Always double-check your boxes before sealing them up and mailing them: That's the lesson one British woman recently learned after she accidentally mailed her cat. Cupcake had climbed into a box of DVDs the woman was planning to ship, as cats are wont to do, and the woman didn't notice. The Siamese managed to survive an eight-day, 260-mile journey, per a blog post (picked up by Time) from the veterinary office that treated the cat for extreme dehydration.

The recipient of the box called the RSPCA after finding Cupcake, and the RSPCA arranged for her treatment. She was microchipped, so her owner—who had been posting missing flyers and searching for the feline—traveled to pick her up. They had a tearful reunion, per the BBC. "When I realized she was missing, it was the most horrible, scary feeling," her owner says. "We looked everywhere for her." (More strange stuff stories.)
