An Indiana 20-year-old in Panama City Beach, Fla., for spring break fell to his death from a parking garage over the weekend, the News Herald reports. A passerby found Tyler Douglas Gilmore's body around 1am Sunday; he had last been seen around two hours before that. He fell from the 10-level Shores of Panama parking garage, though police weren't sure from what height he fell. Acquaintances staying at the condo building told police Gilmore had been drinking a lot of alcohol on Saturday and was intoxicated when they last saw him.
Foul play is not suspected, but Gilmore's death is still under investigation. Gilmore graduated from a Terre Haute, Ind., high school in 2014, where his former wrestling coach remembers his "magnetic personality." He was a former student at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in St. Mary's, Ind. The college had just gone coed last fall, Indiana's Tribune-Star reports, and Gilmore was one of the first men accepted into the on-campus undergraduate program. He had transferred there from Ivy Tech Community College but left the college in December. He had been studying nursing at both schools, and according to his Facebook page, he had a job as an orderly at a Terre Haute hospital. (More Florida stories.)
