James Deen in More Trouble, Now Over Condom Use

James Deen, already under fire for alleged sexual assault, is now under more fire. California OSHA officials say the porn star's production company didn't use condoms and then didn't offer vaccines or follow-up medical exams to employees who may have been exposed to hepatitis B, the Guardian reports. The company faces $77,875 in fines. The investigation into James Deen Productions, aka Third Rock Enterprises, started in December; officials say Deen and his lawyers tried to keep the government from investigating, but officials got a warrant in January and did a site inspection.

Citations were issued for nine violations, four of them serious, meaning there is "a realistic possibility that death or serious harm could result from the actual hazardous condition," per Cal/OSHA's press release. "Third Rock Enterprises failed to protect employees from illness and injury while on set," says Cal/OSHA's chief. Citations were also issued for the company's initial refusal to provide their safety records to the state. As BuzzFeed reports, Deen's company can appeal the fines. (More James Deen stories.)
