Mashable thinks it's found "what may be the worst Tinder opening of all time," and it's tough to argue. It comes courtesy of 21-year-old Rebecca Keane of Ireland, who tweeted the gem she received from a confused suitor. "Sorry, thought you were the other girl in the profile pic.. ask her can I have her number... please x." Alas, Keane responded that her friend was attached, adding, "but thanks for the confidence boost."
The Sun tabloid also picked up on the story, calling it, a little harshly, the "worst online dating rejection ever." It then delved into a weird theory that the guy sent a "neg" (or negative) compliment on purpose. But Keane, noting that she'd posted plenty of other solo photos of herself, offers a different explanation to Mashable: "Seems to be a bit of an idiot." (More Tinder stories.)
