Ben Carson doesn't believe he has any way to win the Republican nomination for president and won't be attending Thursday's GOP debate in his hometown of Detroit, the Washington Post reports. But he's still technically going to keep running for president anyway, it seems. "I do not see a political path forward in light of last evening's Super Tuesday primary results," Carson said in a statement Wednesday. "However, this grassroots movement on behalf of 'We the People' will continue. … I remain committed to Saving America for Future Generations."
According to CNN, Carson came to the decision during a staff meeting Wednesday following a terrible showing on Super Tuesday. Oddly enough though, the one-time frontrunner isn't actually suspending his campaign. He plans to give a speech about his "political future" on Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference. Carson's announcement comes one day after he declared, "I'm not ready to quit," and the same day he released a video titled "Dear Haters" to address his, well, haters, the Hill reports. Regardless, it looks like we'll have to wait until Friday to see what the future holds for the fruit salad of Ben Carson's life. (More Ben Carson stories.)
