The final quarter of 2015 was pretty kind to Bernie Sanders, who put up some impressive fundraising numbers on his way to giving Hillary Clinton a run for her money: The Vermont independent raked in $33 million, reports USA Today, which puts him just $4 million behind Clinton over the same time period. Sanders' average donation was $27.16, which his campaign manager says is proof "that we can run a strong national campaign without a super PAC and without depending on millionaires and billionaires." Sanders pulled in $73 million over the course of 2015, but USA Today notes that he's also ripping through that cash: he had just $28.4 million left at the end of the year. Clinton, meanwhile, raised $112 million in 2015, and had about $38 million left. (More Bernie Sanders stories.)
