The latest batch of Hillary Clinton emails was released on New Year's Eve. A sampling of the coverage:

  • Politico offers up "the 7 must-read emails" of the batch, including one from 2011 in which Clinton corresponds with an aide who was apparently trying to get out of serving jury duty. "Look and sound eager—you'll be viewed as too crazy for either side to pick, according to Kurt," she writes. His response: "My prosecutor friend told me I simply have to say I trust cops." Hillary's response: "Perfect!"

  • The Hill focuses on an email a Clinton ally sent to Clinton in May 2012. In it, American Progress President Neera Tanden told Hillary that billionaire Democratic donor George Soros once admitted to Tanden he regretted backing President Obama instead of Clinton in 2008. "He likes to admit mistakes when he makes them and that was one of them," Tanden wrote.
  • AFP reports that one March 2011 email from Clinton advisor Sidney Blumenthal contains this tantalizing, but partially redacted quote allegedly from the US ambassador to Germany: "Just for the record, if she does not already know, [redacted] is one of the biggest jerks in the foreign service. Not only can he not get along with people or think clearly on anything, he also went over totally to the dark side during the Bush administration. He once literally shouted me down at a conference where I suggested the Bush administration was hurting US relations with Europe."
