Built on the tail end of the Roaring Twenties, the Acacia Mansion in Ojai, Calif., likely has been the scene of many a Gatsby-esque party. But, after allegedly serving as the set for a five-day fetish porno shoot last August, it’s safe to say that the bar for wild shindigs at the $1,095-a-night property has been set a whole lot higher. In a suit filed this month in California Superior Court, mansion owner Kristina Knapic claims that she was tricked into renting the property, via Airbnb, to a company that makes hardcore gay porn, which often depicts “men urinating on each other and giving each other enemas,” reports the Smoking Gun. Upon returning to the mansion, Knapic claims to have found it littered with enema kits and sexual devices, along with unfortunate stains all over the house.
In the suit, Knapic claims that a woman identifying herself as “Anna” said she wanted to rent the property for vacation with a group of friends. In reality, according to the suit, Anna was Andrei Treivas—aka Michael Lucas—a porn actor, director, and producer. Treivas, Knapic claims, said he was Anna’s brother-in-law when picking up the keys for the mansion. Knapic has since had the linens replaced, the hot tub drained and bleached, the walls repainted, and pretty much everything else shampooed and steam-cleaned. She is seeking unspecified monetary damages, and she wants to prevent Treivas from distributing the porno filmed at the mansion. In other Airbnb news, a Business Insider feature notes that more users of the service seem to be using it for romantic encounters—sometimes with their hosts. There’s even a Reddit thread on the topic. (This might be the most unusual Airbnb rental.)
