Woman Falls Off Cruise Ship During Floating Music Fest

For the second time in a week, a person has fallen overboard on a major cruise line's ship. The Miami Herald quotes an emailed statement from Norwegian Cruise Line that says an un-IDed woman was seen Thursday evening "intentionally going overboard" from the deck of the Norwegian Pearl, not far from the coast of Cuba. Crew members put three rescue boats in the waters ASAP and contacted the Coast Guard, which reportedly sent a vessel and an aircrew to assist with the search.

The incident took place during the Mad Decent Boat Party, a four-day music fest at sea featuring electronic performers such as Diplo and Skrillex, reports NBC News. The Pearl was sailing from Miami to Cozumel, Mexico. "Both the ship and charter company teams are providing support to the family and all impacted guests during this difficult time," NCL said in its statement. (More cruise ships stories.)
