John McCain charged yesterday that early withdrawal from Iraq proposed by both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton would  trigger "genocide" across the region. He launched his latest attack on his Democratic rivals on the eve of his planned international tour to Britain, France, Israel, Jordan and possibly Iraq to pitch his war strategy to America's allies, reports the Daily Telegraph.

"If we do what al-Qaeda wants, we have chaos and genocide and they will follow us home. That's been my position forever," he said. "If we show success, our European allies will help to rebuild that tragic, war-torn country." McCain is hoping to win international expressions of support for his war goals, which would be a major boost to his campaign. (More John McCain stories.)
