Halloween and bad decision-making go together like chocolate and more chocolate, but it takes a certain and utter suspension of common sense to dress up like a suicide bomber—complete with an explosives vest, because why do things in half measures?—and try to get inside a United States military base. As NBC News reports, such was the case of an unnamed soldier who did just that at North Carolina's Fort Bragg, prompting, as one might expect, a swift response that included the closure of the gate, a bomb squad, and a sternly worded statement warning that "costumes of this sort are not allowed on Fort Bragg." Further, per NBC: "The senior commander ... directs that soldiers not wear costumes of this sort off post and strongly encourages soldiers, DA civilians, and family members to follow the same guidance to prevent similar issues within our neighboring communities."
