A Good Samaritan has died after protecting a woman from a would-be purse snatcher early yesterday in Phoenix, the Arizona Republic reports. Police say a man was attempting to take a 23-year-old woman's purse outside a residence shortly after midnight local time when 42-year-old Miguel Briseno intervened. He was able to fight off the man but suffered some sort of neck wound and was taken to the hospital, where he died. Police have no information on Briseno's fatal injury, and no weapon was seen during the incident. But KPHO reports a neighbor heard screaming that someone had been stabbed. "It's tragic a man lost his life trying to take care of a young lady," one officer tells KPHO. (More Good Samaritan stories.)
