San Antonio averted a third straight loss in a nail-biter against Denver, prevailing 107-103 after a tie game at 100 with two minutes remaining. Tim Duncan led six Spurs in double figures with 23 points and 18 rebounds. Allen Iverson had 28 for the Nuggets despite a fractured ring finger on his shooting hand. Also in pro hoops:

Hours after Dwyane Wade called it quits for the season in order to rehab his left knee, his Heat suffered their sixth straight loss, 99-98. Cuttino Mobley's free throws with 2.6 seconds left clinched the win for the Clippers. Wade's deactivation meant the Heat suited only eight players for the game, the league minimum.
