The McDonald's Quarter Pounder, aka the "Royale With Cheese," no longer lives up to its name: According to its website, the chain has upped the beef content to 4.25 ounces, which shrinks to a little over 2.8 ounces after cooking, reports CNBC. Whether the price also gets beefed up will be up to individual restaurant operators, Vocativ reports, though CNBC notes that the chain announced on a recent earnings call that rising beef prices were the main cause of an increase in commodity costs. (For the first time ever, the number of McDonald's outlets in America is going to shrink this year.)
