AC/DC Drummer Dodges Jail

Longtime AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has dodged a prison sentence for threatening to kill a former employee and his daughter, but he's not going to drum for the band for a while unless a tour takes them to Tauranga, New Zealand. The 61-year-old, who had faced up to seven years in prison for the threats and for drug possession, was sentenced to eight months of home detention, to be served at his beachfront home, the BBC reports. When he handed the sentence down today, the judge described Rudd as a "relatively fragile man who has felt bound to live the rock star lifestyle" and noted that the band had gone on tour without him, Stuff.co.nz reports.
