Memphis police are keeping a tight watch on three seriously wounded children who could be key to solving the murder of six people—including two other kids—at a brick house in a tough neighborhood over the weekend. Police aren’t allowing any visitors, including relatives. They’ve also declined to identify the children, slain or living.
“We don’t know who’s in the hospital. We don’t know who’s alive. "It’s depressing,” said the sister of Cecil Dotson, one of the adult victims. She said Dotson, who was renting the apartment, was the father of all five children in the house at the time. All the adult victims had police records, including assaults, armed robberies, drug possession, prostitution, forgery, burglary, and unlawful gun possession. The children ranged in ages from 9 years to 2 months old. (More Memphis stories.)
